You could say that actress, writer, web-series creator and geeky sex symbol Felicia Day is a creation of YouTube. She starred in Joss Whedon’s “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” and created “The Guild,” a series that has amassed more than 74 million YouTube views.
“Web series have been my life and career for the past four years,” Ms. Day told Ad Age.
Can YouTube turn her into a mogul? Its $100 million investment in original-content “channels” is well under way; 96 channels have been announced, culled from a mix of indie producers, TV and film veterans, and traditional media companies. But YouTube also bets that some of its stars can turn their small operations into something substantial.
Ms. Day, 32, is launching “Geek and Sundry,” a channel that will turn her one-woman show into a network of sorts. “I can hire the people I need while I do the top-level creative stuff to make sure the shows become what I had in my head,” she said.
Ms. Day will also select programs she likes — in effect stamping the network with her quirky sensibility, with shows on niche subjects like comics, games and books.
Here is the promo for the final season of Eureka, Felicia appears briefly in the promo. Eureka returns on April 16th!

Vaginal Fantasy Hangout #1 video
What is Vaginal Fantasy Hangout? Once a month four ladies discuss a Vaginal Fantasy book in a G+ Hangout. Interpret at will. Felicia posted a video of it recently on her website, one you can check out below.
Though it is just discussions, viewer discretion is advised.
In 2011, Day had great success with the fifth season of The Guild and the debut of her Bioware/ Machinima series Dragon Age: Redemption, but it looks like she has even bigger plans for 2012. On Friday, Day #FF-ed her new company Geek and Sundry. Day tweeted to her followers that the new project will be “bringing you awesome web video awesomeness very soon!” Now, it is no secret that I am a big fan of Felicia Day and her work. The moment I saw this announcement I wanted to learn more. Beyond the description of offering “Eccentricities for your Entertainment,” however, Geek and Sundry remains a mystery for the moment.
The first and only video on the Geek and Sundry Youtube channel is a simple welcome message from Felicia Day herself. Day’s introduction does not give much away about her new project, but she touches briefly about being busy with production and “cool stuff” coming soon. Until the Geek and Sundry site officially launches Day encourages fans and viewers to subscribe to the channel or join the newsletter for early access to videos going online in a few months.
Dragon Age: Redemption slays your heart on Valentine’s Day
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to watch Felicia Day do some medieval butt-kicking? The official DVD release for the video game based web series Dragon Age: Redemption has been slated for Feb. 14.
Dragon Age: Redemption is set in the same world at the video game Dragon Age II and follows an Elven assassin named Tallis (Day) as she journeys to rescue an AWOL mage. As she ventures through the Dragon Age world, she comes upon knights, magic and all manner of fantasy coolness.
The DVD will include all six episodes of the series, as well as bonus material like behind-the-scenes footage and bloopers. The DVD can currently be pre-ordered at from retailers such as Amazon.com and Best Buy.
Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day discuss upcoming “The Guild” comic
On Felicia Day’s fantasy gaming webseries The Guild, Wil Wheaton plays Fawkes, the Machiavellian leader of the Axis of Anarchy online guild. Fawkes is the antagonist (and occasional paramour) of Day’s heroic cleric, Cyd “Codex” Sherman. And even though Wheaton’s played a major role on The Guild, we’ve never seen what his in-game avatar looks like…until now.
Here’s your very first look at Wheaton’s villainous alter ego, as seen on the cover of Dark Horse’s upcoming The Guild: Fawkes comic by artist Paul Duffield. io9 recently spoke with Felicia and Wil about Fawkes’ tale, which the actors cowrote together.
This is the first time we’ve ever seen Fawkes’ avatar. Were you involved in the design process? Like, “More skulls and spikes, everywhere!”
Felicia Day: I kind of let him lead on it because I always like to see other people’s angles and fresh perspectives on these characters.
What’s Fawkes been up to between the fourth and fifth season of The Guild?
FD: One thing I can say is that this is a much more Axis of Anarchy centered story than we’ve ever seen before, even for the show. It was fun to fill out characters I haven’t visited in a while.
